The Economy Block is essentially a square in a square that is then in another square. It is often seen with lots of scraps, and is perfect for playing with colors and patterns. But it is also used in modern quilts, and certain fabric choices can give this traditional block a more modern vibe. This block is perfect if you have some fabrics you want to showcase as focal fabric with fussy cutting as well. It can be a bit tricky to get perfect squares and points the correct size when using the traditional piecing method.
