The Kaleidoscope quilt pattern was inspired and created after the invention of the Kaleidoscope in 1817, and the quilt block accurately reflects the refraction of light seen when viewing a Kaleidoscope. This quilt provides an appearance of curves without piecing a single curved block! This quilt is primarily comprised of Kaleidoscope blocks, but it also has a fun border of Diamond in a Rectangle blocks for the sides and Diamond in a Square blocks on the corners. Due to the angles in the Kaleidoscope quilt, using Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) greatly simplifies the construction of the blocks. In addition, the border blocks have also been simplified by providing FPP templates. And we'd like to provide a sincere thank you to Stitch With Rachel who made such a lovely video showcasing our Kaleidoscope quilt pattern. It was such a pleasant surprise, and very well done! The final quilt is a throw size quilt that measures 60" X 72", and is perfect for snuggling under when watching a movie. This pattern includes detailed fabric requirements, cutting instructions, sewing and assembly instructions, FPP templates and a coloring page. The pattern assumes that you have basic knowledge of foundation paper piecing, and instructions on the FPP sewing technique are not included. However, the FPP templates are very easy and simple, and perfect for those that are beginners at foundation paper piecing.
