This wildly popular “Storm at Sea” pattern dates back to the early 1900s. Although it looks very complicated with a circular illusion, it is simple to sew with all straight edges. This quilt gets its name for the exciting way the shapes seem to dance on the quilt like a storm at sea! This quilt pattern includes three different sizes you can choose from or you can make all three: Baby size is 35 by 45 inches, Throw size is 66 by 66 inches, and Queen size is 87 by 98 inches. This quilt pattern is easier to make than one would think. We consider it a confident beginner quilt pattern. You will receive the pattern as a digital download in PDF format in 8½ by 11 inches to print. This pattern comes with a pattern overview, yardage requirements, coloring page, and printing, cutting, sewing, and assembly instructions. The pattern assumes that you have basic knowledge of foundation paper piecing, and instructions on the FPP sewing technique are included. However, the FPP templates are very easy and simple, and perfect for those that are beginners to foundation paper piecing. This is a quilt pattern favorite with its impactful and striking circular design, yet there is no curved piecing!
